I am the sun rising
You are the rivers flowing
as I am the wind blowing
You are the bath water
I am the ocean
You are the fireflies
as I am the stars
You are the thunder
I am the lighting
You are the calm before the storm
and I am the storm

The beauty of photographing the ocean is as relaxing as walking beside it. When we step into our landscape photographer role we should always look closer and see the ocean as its own entity, focussing on the small details that she gives us. The feelings of calm, rage and exhilaration. She is a sexual wonderment, surging, pulsing and flowing around us.
Last night I spent time at sunset, looking closer, making pictures and getting wet. The light was coming in perfectly with warm air surrounding the beach. The perfect atmosphere for making pictures. I screwed on my 24mm tilt shift lens, using a large aperture and shifting the lens to extremes to make the shallow depth I wanted. My aim to focus only on a small part of the ocean, her details and accents, forcing the viewers to look where I want them. The performance was amazing, with the oceans twists, turns and pulsating rhythms in betweens the calm smooth spells.
Last night was a great night to make pictures and has inspired me for a longer series. These pictures are available for sale as framed fine art prints.
